Our Story

The Genesis of a Dual-Feedstock Frontier

In 2022, world leaders gathered at the G20 Summit in Bali to reinforce their commitments to the Paris Agreement and limit global warming to well below 2°C. At that exact time, CDD Australia was independently advancing a self-funded study to locate tropical regions ideal for sustainable Beema Bamboo cultivation.

The global urgency highlighted at the Summit catalysed decisive action, prompting CDD to seek aligned partners to address looming biofuel shortfalls. This search led to a strategic joint venture with PT Sumber Pratama Bioenergy (SPB), who brought to the table a comprehensive pre-feasibility study on Australian palm plantations. By uniting SPB's research with CDD's Beema Bamboo framework, we unlocked a unique operational synergy.

Today, the CDD/SPB group is driving the definitive study into certified palm and bamboo feedstocks across Northern Australia’s tropical regions. While this landmark renewable fuels initiative was originally designated as the Australian Palm Oil Development (APOD), we are actively collaborating with regional leaders and our Australian constituents to evolve the project name, ensuring it honors the communities we serve and fully reflects our dual-feedstock future.
